Everything is coming up GREEN ...

I wonder if it is just a coincidence that St. Patrick's Day and the first day of Spring fall within the same week? Spring is set officially to arrive March 20th. I am sure for those of you in the north this is especially fabulous news! Out with the old cold and in with fresh air, fresh ideas, fresh hope! Why not plan something fun to celebrate? Plant something, have a picnic just get outside. If it's still cold where you are have an indoor picnic and plant some seeds in a container. You can transplant them once it warms up!

Spring and all that comes with it is Nature's gift to us. Our most popular gifts this time of year are gardening baskets. Most often they are created from garden toolboxes or bags, sometimes we even use hoses! We fill them up with useful tools, seeds, flower pots, garden stakes and goodies depending on the recipients likes and dislikes. Think about sending some Spring up North, we'd be happy to help!

If you're lucky enough to be Irish...

You're lucky enough!

St. Patrick's Day is synonymous with green beer, corned beef and cabbage and the quaffing of copious amounts of Baileys and Jamesons. Everyone is Irish for the day and huge celebrations are held around the world to honor good St. Paddy. Have you ever wondered who St. Patrick was and why we - I mean some people - drink green beer on his big day and what's the deal with shamrocks?

St. Patrick was born in 385 in Scotland. He was taken from his family and forced into slavery at the age of 14. Follow the link to find out how he went from being held against his will to converting an entire country.

Why a shamrock? Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Trinity, and has been associated with him and the Irish since that time.

Want to send a bit of the green to someone special? Give us a call to discuss your specific needs. There is still time for local St. Patrick's day delivery!

Perserverance wins again...

The simplest things sometimes seem to evolve into all-day challenges don't they? I refuse to admit how many hours and programs it has taken me to finally get Blogger to "see" my public Picasa folder. Being stubborn I refused to give up and the reward for that is the cool slide show of basket ideas playing in the sidebar!!

I can guarantee your gifting experience with Garden Gate Gifts is nothing like putting up a slide show! Easy, fun and fast! Give us a call to discuss your gifting needs soon!!
